Forced upgrade?

Post by toasterman »

Hi,
Since v2.0 of Amadeus Pro has been released, I get a nag screen every time I open it, that I should upgrade/pay. This is a bit irritating to be honest.
Today, I opened Amadeus Pro, and without asking me - it downloaded version 2.0 and presented me with this screen:

Obviously I'm going to have to quit and see what happens, but I can't afford to pay to upgrade to 2.0 at the moment. Can I not continue to use the old version until my bank balance improves?

Edit: Did cmd-alt-esc and forced quit AmadeusPro. Reopened, and stopped the download before it finished.
Checked in preferences, and noticed I had the option "download updates automatically" set. Although I don't think I've changed this recently, so odd that it should suddenly happen now.
Also, is there any way to disable the nag screen? Or at least a "remind me again in a month", type button?

No Problem. Remove the new version from your mac, download the old version from hairersoft.com and install the old one again. More details you'll find in the forum at hairersoft.com/forum

Ah. I wasn't sure whether doing that would prevent me from receiving bug fixes for 1.5.5.
Or will there no more bug fixes for the older version, now?

Ah thanks for clarifying. I will disable the updates then for the time being.
It's a great product, which saves me a lot of time in my audio production (sadly all unpaid so far) and I'll be upgrading in due course.
Keep up the good work.
