Cannot save "selectiion as"

Post by chas.sherman »

After latest up date :
After marking selection and trying to "Save Selection As" I get this error code :
.*** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: mutating method sent to immutable object

I can work around but it is a nuisance.

Oops that's a really silly one, no idea how it made it through to the
final build :-( I just rebuilt the application and updated the
archives. If you redownload it from <http://www.hairersoft.com/AmadeusPro/Am ... nload.html
you should be fine.
The updated build should show as 1.4.4 (638) in the "About Amadeus
Pro" dialog.

Martin

You mean the old build was 638, the new one is 643, right? ;)

Thanks for the update. I just ran into the problem, came here to see if anyone else had it, and you had already posted the solution. Nice!

Yes, it's 643 indeed ;-) The thing is that the same bug appeared in
both the "Save Selection As" and the "Split According to Markers"
function. I realised this very shortly after after I uploaded build
638, that's why the build number changed. Sorry for that....

Can't save

Post by drmamontgomery »

I just updated my Amadeus Pro. Now I can't save any tracks. I try "save as" and "save" and get an error that says "LAME returned the following error: " and then nothing after that.

I don't do anything fancy with this. I just record an MP3 voice and email it to my clients. I do not code stuff, and I don't know how to insert a "patch".

Please let me know. Thanks.

What are the characteristics (sampling rate, number of channels) of
the sound you are trying to save? Also, which version of MacOS X are
you using? Finally, could you send me a screenshot of the Mp3 settings
dialog (click on "Settings" in the file savings dialog), including the
"advanced" settings? Thanks,

Martin

Still can't save

Post by drmamontgomery »

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

To be honest, I haven't changed anything. I am using the defaults, as far as I can tell.
On the MP3 settings, we have:

Encoding type: CBR
Encoding quality 2
Bitrate 128
VBR quality (not highlighted, cannot seem to change, set at 4)
Tags: none
Sample rate: Automatic
box "joint stereo" is checked
Using LAME encoding engine

When I click "Advanced" I see one highlighted box "Additional command-line arguments" which is unchecked. Other box (overrides all other settings) is gray and cannot change, box is unchecked.

I am using OX 10.4.11

As for "sampling rate" and "number of channels" I'm not sure how to check. As I say, previous to updating, I just clicked on record, recorded my own voice--nothing else--and then saved as an MP3 file, and emailed to my clients. I changed nothing, and I do nothing fancy with this application at all (I hope to learn--but not today!).

I hope this helps. Sorry to be so L.A.M.E. (a little humor there....)

Thanks.

More on "cannot save"

Post by drmamontgomery »

Hi again.

I figured out the answers to the other questions.

Each recording is generally less than 5 minutes long.
No. of tracks: 1
Sampling rate: 44,100 HZ
Sampling depth: 16 bits

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Maybe that's the problem. I *thought* that the current build of lame
runs on 10.4, but maybe I was wrong. I'll check that sometime either
tomorrow or over the weekend. Regards,

Martin

Martin, I have the same error message regarding LAME when trying to save any mp3 file and I am using Tiger. This problem appeared only after upgrading to 1.4.4. Unfortunately, I deleted my earlier versions that worked. Can I download an earlier version anywhere?
