FLAC conversion? - newbie

Post by soundchaser »

Hello to Martin and Amadeus Pro, haven't tried Amadeus for a while, like the new look, hoping it's the answer, fed up with bugs in other 'sound' applications, currently on trial.

A question regarding FLAC, forgive my ignorance!. I want to download a performance from Wolfgang's Vault onto my Mac using Snow Leopard, it's available in both mp3 and FLAC, which I imagine is better, but I understand iTunes doesn't like FLAC.

Can I put the files into AP and convert them to AIFF? Also, when digitising vinyl onto the Mac how do I separate a side of an album into individual tracks? I've been managing it in other sound suites but I suppose you all use different words and terminology for certain procedures, I'm sure once I learn it'll be fine!

Many thanks. :)

Yes, just open them and then say "Save As".

an album into individual tracks?
Have a look at pages 10 and 40 of the manual. If something isn't clear
there, please feel free to ask again ;-) Regards,

Martin

I've read the pages you suggested, but do I save the multiple tracks in the desktop rather than burn them onto a disc. Which option do I choose?

After placing the markers, choose "Split according to markers" in the
"Sound" menu. Regards,
