I don't think Amadeus will do this, but correct me if I'm wrong or
please make other suggestions. Does anyone know how I can create 20-
bit wav files from 24-bit on Mac OS? I can do this on a PC in Wavelab,
but am struggling with a Mac solution.
We make audio for Blu-Ray titles for film studios and often have to
hit very difficult data size targets. Occasionally we will truncate to
20-bit before lossless encoding with Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD MA in
order to reduce the file size slightly. This is a better compromise
than dropping all the way down to 16-bit, but unfortunately I have to
move to another platform right now (Wavelab running on Win) to do this
and then come back to Mac OS to encode.
I've tried using almost anything I can find (including SoX - Sound
eXchange - whick looks like it should do it but doesn't) but can't
seem to find a solution.
Thanks in advance.

be taken into account. This way it makes no difference whether you
feed them a 24Bit or a 20Bit file. Regards,
