Any way to remove silence?

Post by ssawczyn »

Greetings,
I host a weekly assistive technology podcast, more of a round table
discussion. Starting yesterday, I began using Audio Hijack Pro to
create the recordings. Unfortunately, I forgot to enable silence
suppression, so between various speakers, there exist gaps, some
ranging roughly 30 seconds in length. Is there any way for Amadeus
Pro to remove this silence? I've looked through the menus, but unless
I'm missing it somewhere, there's no silence removal utility. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to
have to remove these silent segments by hand.

Thanks for any assistance,

Steve

You can use the "Generate Markers" function to mark silent portions.
It is then easy to remove them. Regards,

I am also interested in this functionality. I would like to remove silences in recorded speech sounds which contain hundreds of silent periods.
Using the above method only amounts to placing markers right in the middle of the silence periods.

How do we then remove the marked silence period?

Thanks

Peter
