Scrub editing

Post by mackerr »

Is there any hope of getting a tape type scrub edit tool? Zooming in and doing waveform editing has its place, but the speed of rocking analog tape reels is missing from most computer audio editing systems. I for one would love to see scrub editing make a comeback. It seems to be available on a couple over $500 systems, but what about the rest of us?

I'd love to see scrub editing as well, I miss it, I love it and as a
blind person, scrubbing has always enabled me to quickly find specific
locations really quickly. I *really* hope this gets introduced,
ideally with keyboard commands.

There's a "poor man's version" if scrubbing: if you hit the "e" key
while a selection is made, it plays a small chunck before and after
the selection, showing you the effect of the edit. The length of that
can be set in the prefs. Another thing that you can do is drag the
playback head while it is playing. Regards,

Martin
