Where do I find the squared brackets "[]"?

Post by Neil »

Hi there,
I know it's not good to ask for keyboard shortcuts here ... anyway ;-)

I wish to use the shortcuts [ and ] for moving around by pixel.
On german keyboards I can get the squared brackets by pressing alt-5 (open) or alt-6 (close).

If I press these shortcuts in AmadeusPro, there is no action.
I tried to "simulate" the shortcuts with QuicKeys - same effect.

I thank You for Your help,
Neil.

For square brackets try the two keys to the right of the P. That's where they are on international keyboards. In German lay out it might be ü and +.

Don't know much about the technical differences.

Thank You.

That's right and they work as long as I have the language changed, but ...

To work with them, I have to change the keyboard layout for a moment to use the desired shortcuts and change again after using.
Too much for me :-)

Best regards,
Neil.

QuicKeys can probably do that for you.
It used to be one of my favourite programs in OS9 days.

It's still going. More sophisticated than before, and not as simple to use,
but it still usually gets the job done.
