When I installed iTunes 8, I got a nasty message that my library
was messed up and iTunes would try to fix it for me. Wonderful.

Afterwards I found several playlists placed into a "_" folder, and
a whole "artist" folder was copied into another's. There may be
other surprises.

I started the daunting task of checking each of the 6,280 tracks in
my iTunes library. The first wouldn't open in Amadeus Pro (1.3.2). I
got the message "An exception was raised. Output of mpg123 would not
be parsed." Audacity (1.3.5) would open the track, but would only save
in an MP3 format that AP would recognize if I downloaded lamelib 3.97
Mac OSX Universal.

Sound Converter 2008-08-02 read the next MP3, also a problem for AP,
and created a track that AP would read. Sound converter can batch
process MP3s.

What's happening here? Can I recover without reading each and every
MP3 track into Audacity and saving each one individually? Or batching
an album (palylist) at a time with Sound Converter.

LATER: It turns out it was only the first album (so far) that needed the
MP3's laundered before Amadeus would open them. I panic'd early.

I'd appreciate help.

Hi, the version at <http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/
AmadeusPro.zip> is more lenient with error messages generated by the
helper tool that Amadeus Pro uses to read Mp3 files. This should do
the trick. Regards,

Martin
