finding repeating segments

Post by mustbjones »

Being a novice audio engineer, is it possible to select a section of the audio wave, and find other like sections within a recording. If not, could this be added in a future update? Thanks MBJ

I don't know of a way to do this and the process sounds like it would be
remarkably ugly. What does "like" another section mean -- how "like" is
"like", what components should be considred in "like", absolute values,
relative values, frequency distribution, slight changes in timing, etc?
I could go on for quite a while longer.

This is basically why such a function doesn't exist ;-) By the way,
what purpose / workflow did you have in mind for such a function?

That is a really good question and right now I can't think of why or what the conditions were that made me think of it. MBJ
