Amadeus Lite / Pro 2.4

Post by Martin Hairer »

Dear all, this is to let you know that I've just released version 2.4 of Amadeus Lite / Pro.

The main news is that the TouchBar is now fully supported on the new MacBook Pro's.
Amadeus now also uses Metal for display (when available), so if you are using a recent
Mac (2012 or newer) and are running OS X 10.11 or newer you should notice a dramatic
improvement in the fluidity of the display.

Another new feature is support for the new Ogg Opus audio file format.

Finally, Amadeus now uses Auto Layout. This will be mostly visible to people using it
in a non-English language and means that the user interface is now perfectly laid out
in every language. It also improves the layout of the English version since it removes
the need to leave extra space for other languages. Regards,

Martin

I am interested in the opus support. Is that for both opening and saving files? I still use mp3 on my podcasts, however if I need to share something with a friend I can more easily do that assuming their android plays opus files of corse.

Weird. I have two versions, one I've called Amadeus Pro (MAS) and when I open that one it's 2.3.1 and I see no way to update within the app. I have a second version (without (MAS) in the name) and it's version 2.4.1.

But if I go to the Mac App Store and click Open on Amadeus Pro, it opens the 2.4.1 (nonMAS) version.

Curious.

The App Store gets confused if you have a non-App Store application with the same
name already installed. If you trash both copies and reinstall from the App Store, it
should install version 2.4.1 (actually 2.4.2 if you wait for another couple of days).

The App Store version can only be updated from within the App Store and not the app
itself due to Apple's policies (and because it would sort of defeat the purpose of the App
Store anyway). Regards,

Martin

Hi! The newest version of Amadeus crashes sometimes on my http://bastalivecasino.se/ computer. No idea why - it has never ever happened before. Any ideas why?

To want to, is to be able to.

Do these crashes persist with version 2.4.2? f yes, could you please report them
with the integrated reporting tool? (Which should activate automatically if you
relaunch Amadeus shortly after a crash.) Regards,

Martin
