Re: inserting CD index flags within a song
I want to insert CD index pts. within a song, then burn a CD which recognizes those different pts, but doesn't affect the audio file. Sorry, Amadeus Pro can't do that. Maybe Toast? Regards, Martin HairerSoft http://www.hairersoft.com/ Please, pretty please, a feature request for this... is now bein...

Re: vinyl to digital
I use a Technics SL-1200 with a Shure M97eX cartridge. From there I go to a Rolls preamp, to a Yamaha HTR 5860 receiver. My computer is a MacBook Pro, and I'm using Amadeus Pro 1.3.3. I'm using the built in A/D converter on the Mac. The gear is certainly not audiophile stuff, but not the bottom end...

Re: true mono?
There are occasions, however, when I can't be entirely sure if a record is in true mono, or is rather a stereo mix with a very narrow pan range. My question, then, is whether there are any analysis tools in Amadeus that can help me determine whether a record is dual-channel mono, or true stereo. I ...

you worked at KALX? interesting -- I was working at Orban in SF as an electronic technician '84-90 - around the same time you were at KALX...I also ran a record label called Silent Records - you might have heard of it working at KALX -- I even did some live shows there and was a guest from time to ...

More commonly in my experience is the separate grounding wire is not properly connected to whichever device has the analog preamp into which the (usually) RCA plugs are connected. agreed - but even on American turntables (at least circa 1980's) connecting the green ground wire to the back of the pr...

as for hum: not having used a USB turntable I can't comment on this but typically the hum on an analog turntable is the result of a moving coil transducer i.e. the cartridge being physically difficult to shield with coax - if you look on most cartridges you'll see two small gauge wires traveling do...

Re: Amadeus Pro is Disappointing compared to AmadeusII
I have to say I am quite frustrated by the poor performance of Amadeus Pro. I just "upgraded" and found that it take 3x as long to open a WAV file. When performing a task such as Normalization, the progress bar starts out saying that it's going to take 6 secs then after about 20 secs it s...

Re: Reply to Heaton's External Interface post
Sonic, I am overwhelmed. Thank you for taking the time to respond in such detail. You have given me much to think about. I hope I may ask a follow-up question or two, even though unrelated to Amadeus except that the finished product will be processed on AP. I’m fine with that, as long as Martin and...

The original of this message is near the end of the thread on the topic "crossfade tunes", reposted here: I want to use Amadeus Pro to capture the audio of LPs and cassettes. I have a usb turntable for the LPs and a deck for the cassettes. I have recorded some cassettes directly from deck ...

Re: Input / Output error?
Hi- Every time I try to save a mix of multiple tracks I keep getting this error message: "An Input / Output error has occured. There might be a problem with your filesystem or you may have attempted a forbidden operation. The error ID is -43." Any help would be most appreciated. This prob...

You would think that since I put in titles and other info that it would somehow get written but so far is not. Thanks for your help. Richard Glad to help when i can. Actually, i would not expect the information you typed in to get written anywhere on a standard audio CD because the CD-DA format has...

Do you mean that when I am burning a CD in AP, that it is looking up info in iTunes? I just put in a master disk I made some time ago and when it mounts in the Finder, it has one of these strange names. I am really confused by it. I have not yet burned a CD from within AP, yet i doubt AP is involve...

Re: Very odd CD burn
I think the info you are getting comes from the CDDB data base -- I almost always get silly things in the Itunes read when I burn a CD with my own tracks. I Itunes tries to match the times on the disk with some disk that is in the data base. (note that this is my suspicion and I don't really know f...

Re: Why does playback sound different in iTunes and Amadeus?
I record something and it sounds fine when I play it in Amadeus. But when I drop it into iTunes, then I hear a bunch of blowouts on various notes and sections. I guess those are gain issues? Or what? What can I do? David m. Probably gain issues, and almost certainly in iTunes, as there are plenty o...
