Try option-click in the track you want to move. when you hit option the cursor changes to a hand; when you hold option and click the hand becomes a grabber and you can drag the file in the track right where you are without having to go back for the handles at either end. it only works when you have ...

Just a guess, but it could be the difference between the original mp3 bitrate and the settings for saving as mp3 in your Amadeus Pro. When you open up an mp3 to edit the program actually gives you an uncompressed PCM (wav or aiff) file to work on. Then when you save as mp3 it compresses the edited f...

Chris, I'm certainly no expert, but I started with the guidelines at this Apple info page: http://www.apple.com/pro/techniques/aggregateaudio/ Create an aggregate of the input devices you want to record (up to 5 channels with Amadeus Pro). Then choose the aggregate device as your audio source in the...

multi-track (simultaneous) recording levels
I've figured out that using the Aggregate Device Editor from the Audio pull-down menu of Audio-Midi setup I can 'gang' several input sources (mainly USB interfaces) and with Amadeus Pro I can record as many as five discrete tracks simultaneously (front l&r, back l&r, centre). However, the on...

Re: unwanted fade-in when saving selection as new file
[quote="Martin Hairer"]I haven't been able to reproduce this with the latest version. Martin, Maybe everything is OK. I went thru the entire computer and wiped every file connected with APro; then I downloaded the latest version, installed and it seems to be working fine - no unexpected fa...

[quote="CDJonah_alt"]Did you trash the prefs?
Chuck,
I did trash the prefs for the first re-install; but there have been several since this issue started happening. I'll take your suggestion and try that again. Thanks.

Re: unwanted fade-in when saving selection as new file
FYI, I am still getting that unwanted fade-in and the running time clock no longer indicates the running time or the total time. It just stays at 00:00:00 or increments the minutes, but no seconds. Also the time indicator below the waveform only shows the minutes, not the seconds or fractions. As yo...

Re: unwanted fade-in when saving selection as new file
OK, it is happening again with the new version; I get the long fade-in when I "Save Selection As..." if I've put a fade-in envelope at the start of the selection. But something else: the time scale on the bottom of the waveform no longer reads out seconds. The minute figure increments high...

Re: unwanted fade-in when saving selection as new file
I think the version at <http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/AmadeusPro.zip fixes this. It would happen if the track in question has a fade in envelope at the beginning. Martin, In fact, I often do have a short fade-in envelope to smooth out the start of the file. That would explain why in only happ...

unwanted fade-in when saving selection as new file
Started noticing this behavior intermittently with Amadeus Pro and am not sure how to prevent it. Editing interviews I get a section cleaned up, highlight it and use opt-cmd-s (from the Selection pull-down menu) to Save Selection As... a new .wav file. However, the new file has a long - approx 20-se...

Re: adding tracks at work point in timeline
[quote="CDJonah_alt"]What about inserting at zero and then use "add silence" with the amount you want? Possibly a work around. Chuck, An interesting idea, but - like the dragging process - it involves more steps: calculating the amount of silence needed, cmd-T, entering the amoun...
