Playback multiple tracks at the same time??
There seems to be a glitch as far as I can tell; just try selecting everything a second time and it works (I am being vague here because I haven't done it in several months, but a little poking lets it play all tracks.) Cannot save a file with a slash in the title
Bottom line -- avoid slashes and semicolons in file names -- why ask for trouble. Chuck On 9/27/11 3:17 PM, Martin Hairer wrote: Just for those of you who are wondering: the reason why it is a hack is that Unix (and related) filesystems do not allow slashes in filenames, since this is the way direct...

Crossfade functions need some explanation
Try and experiment. Simple picture -- take a selection. Crossfade to the left will fade it with an equal-sized region left of the selection region; crossfade right fades it with the material to the right. Create 30 seconds of sound -- sine wave is as good as anything. Put a marker in the middle and ...

Where are Apple AU plugin presets stored
One question, if you run the program from another user account, are the same presets there? Are au plugins a package and do they have internal storage. distortion still an issue
Listening to the sample, it is still clipping, which is, of course, what one would expect if you normalize to +1 dB. The instructions I gave said set to normalize to 0 dB and not +1 dB. It might not show up in other conversions because it is conceivable that other conversions may round off the clipp...

Possible change in dialog box
Is there space in the normalize dialog box to put "not recommended" or "expert only" on normalizing to rms value? I am certain a large number of people have been led astray. I can think of places where the command might be convenient (in particular for balancing levels for a CD -...

distortion sample
Ray, You are clipping -- no more no less -- any time you normalize to +6dB peak you are going to clip. You are starting with a mono file so I suggest 1) Convert track to stereo -- that way you know what is happening. (not sure the command has the same name in AP 2, but there will be a command like i...

distortion from mp3 encloder
Simple answer -- don't normalize using rms values -- with your settings, that will distort any time the difference between the rms value and the peak value is greater than -3 (-5) dB. The first file I pulled up had a maximum of -11 dB and an rms value of -21 dB -- gonna distort. Chuck On 8/4/11 9:27...

[Bulk] Re: distortion from mp3 encloder
I can't believe you won't get distortion with your settings of normalize, so I am going to make the assumption, the settings aren't what you think they are. Where do you hear the distortion? Does it sound okay in AP? I do know that earlier versions of Toast get really annoyed if a file is not sample...

Clipping when I amplify a track on Amdeus Pro
Try normalize to maximum and not rms. Amadeus should clip if you ask it to amplify too much. On 7/26/11 2:00 PM, dubtronic wrote: Hi I have a problem. I drecently bought the new amadeus pro. File has approx. -4db difference to peaks during recording
Only Martin can answer the specifics, but I expect he throws up a red when the last bit is set (that is 6 dB down). To confirm you are okay, select the region, do a find maximum from analyze and expand up and see if it looks clipped (several samples that are constant). Personally, you pushing it con...

how to extarct autofocus motor noise from audio file
I doubt if amplifying anything is likely to help. Background music is always an option. On CarTalk they always talk of turning the radio up louder to drown out a noise. I would guess that it says nothing about the camera; you just shouldn't use a mike on a camera with autofocus. You might find that ...

how to extarct autofocus motor noise from audio file
Do you have a clean sample of the autofocus noise? If so, see if there are discrete frequencies that you can pull out. You can also try the denoising algorithm -- I think in theory it should work but in practice, you may just be able to decrease it. (I am assuming it is a variant of the Wiener algor...
