For anyone with a similar question to mine, Martin Hairer correctly surmised that Amadeus Pro was using an external drive for the location of temp files, which came as a surprise to me because the only external drive is my Apple Time Capsule wirelessly connected for Time Machine back-ups, which shou...

Thanks, the step by step instructions are that I digitize a record with a line running from my stereo through an iMic USB connection into my MacBook Pro (Retina 15 inch late 2013), collect both sides of the album, stop recording, save as .amad or .aif (made no difference to the problem so I'm using ...

Hmm, I continued digitizing records today and the problem was gone for a few hours, then came back later in the day. I am not sure what my computer is doing differently at those times, but I've never noticed this behavior before. Everything was slow yesterday; when the problem returned today, it was...

2.3.1 very slow on Sierra
Just used Amadeus Pro with Sierra for the first time and updated to 2.3.1 as requested. Processing like normalization or even exporting to AIFF is taking several minutes for an album-length file that took just a few seconds before. Like I have to walk away and do other things for 5 minutes. This is ...

Re: vinyl to digital: proper recording levels to minimize no
It's the oddest thing: I hooked the dual RCA plugs to one of the pairs of tape deck output jacks in the stereo receiver, and there was no hum when I tested it out, but when I did my first actual recording in that configuration, there was yet another hum of a different quality when there was no music...

Re: vinyl to digital: proper recording levels to minimize no
Thanks, that makes sense about the headphone circuitry. Yes, I could try what you suggest, which I assume involves taking a cable that has two RCA plugs at one end and a stereo minijack at the other, and plugging it into the back of the receiver. I'll give it a try tonight and will let you know. Che...

vinyl to digital: proper recording levels to minimize noise
I've got a bunch of vinyl recordings to digitize for ultimate mp3 conversion, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to set recording levels to avoid both a hum and a hiss. My turntable is part of my home stereo system, and I am connecting a microphone cable from the headphone jack of the stereo ...

Can't get space bar to work
Yes, this worked. I was unable to do anything until I quite Amadeus and started it again, and now all keyboard functionality is restored. Thanks and keep up the good work. -Matt

Can't get space bar to work
Thanks for the suggestions folks. It makes sense because I noticed later that not only did the space bar not work, but also I couldn't delete a selection by hitting delete, nor could I select all using command-A. It's consistent with the keyboard just not being recognized. I'll try this tonight when...

Can't get space bar to work
Hi, I just upgraded to Amadeus Pro. The instructions state that hitting the space bar during playback starts and resumes playback, which makes sense, except that it's not working for me. I hit spacebar during playback and the music doesn't stop. I hit space bar when the insertion point is stationary...
