I'm much more used to processing out ambient noise (a/c, fans, echo, etc.), but I did a quick pass on your file thru the NR and click/crackle functions in Izotope RX. Maybe with a more experienced hand/ear you can get the results you want:

room echo
Rich, I've run into the problem on interviews recorded in acoustically "live" rooms (conference rooms, hotels, etc.) and, you're right, there's no easy solution. Sometimes noise reduction can help as echo is part of the ambience. I've found the NR in Izotope RX works pretty well. Another t...

AP crashes while working with multi-track projects
For a few weeks now I've been experiencing sporadic - but frequent - crashes while working with a multi-track project in Amadeus Pro, something I've done with no problem for years now. It seems to occur most often when I'm sliding a file around to sync it with the other tracks, but sometimes it happ...

v2.06 hangs while performing routine edits
Just installed v2.06 and got the spinning beachball of death for just about any simple editing function from applying effects like normalize to cutting segments. Reinstalled 2.05 and all is fine. Not sure what the problem is, but it definitely affects my workflow. By "affects" I mean it st...

C3 multiband compressor crashes AP in AU, OK in VST on Lion
Since "upgrading" to Lion I've been running into lots of things not working. The latest is the SlimSlowSlider C3 MultiBand Compressor that has been working fine for me with Amadeus Pro under previous OS versions. However with Lion if I try to use the AU version of C3 it crashes Amadeus Pro...

John, I had the same problem too - in v2 when you drag a new file onto an open file a blue vertical line appears and the new file is inserted at that point instead of building a multitrack project. I asked Martin H about it and he explained that the previous behavior is still there - more or less. Y...

Volume envelope behavior in v2
The volume envelope now displays the change in gain of the waveform, so when you draw a deep fade, for instance, the waveform reduces to barely a line. I found the previous behavior a lot more useful - when it did not change the display of the waveform until the envelope was applied to the file or s...

AP v2 add new track
Just getting started with the upgrade from 1.5 to 2 and so far I like almost everything about it. Am noticing one different behavior and want to figure out whether I'm doing something wrong. In AP 1.x dragging file "B" onto the waveform of open file "A" put the contents of "...

re: echo
Well, short of getting intelligence agencies involved, here are a couple of things to try: De-Noising …if you haven't already discovered this, it's one of the choices in the "Effects" pull-down menu. A lot of the echo resides in the noise and reducing that can sometimes help. Experiment wi...

re: important recording ruined
I know exactly the sinking feeling you are going through and really don't have any more suggestions to offer other than your experience (and my parallel ones) should be a warning not to rely on a single recording device when the job is critical - especially a device that is not a dedicated recorder....
