FLAC bug - some files won't open at all
Hi - just updated to version 2 of Amadeus Pro. Things appear to be working, but in one particular case, I'm unable to open FLAC files. The fies in question are these: http://www.archive.org/details/Matisyahu2005-04-21_24-96.flac. 24 bit, 96 KHz. Mac OS X 10.6.7 running on an iMac 2006 (Intel Core Du...

A couple of bugs in 1.4.2
Now I suppose these are bugs, but I just stumbled upon them, so I can't tell for sure how long they've been there: 1. When generating a waveform into a document, the duration is wrong for any samplerate other than 44.1 KHz. 300 seconds of 440 Hz: 44.1 KHz: 5 minutes. 48 KHz: 04:35.625. 96 KHz: 02:17...

Feature request: Snap to marker/selection
It would be great if the ends of a selection could snap to markers. Likewise, moving a marker about should allow it to snap to one or the other end of a selection. This should be user selectable in the preferences. The start and end of the selection often represents significant points in time - like...

Other's got great suggestions too
I agree fully with the post "Feature requests for recording from vinyl" ( http://www.hairersoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=475 ), which I failed to discover before I posted my own post. The combined suggestions of my own ramblings and mirv2/Mark would make for a killer "Servicepack&quo...

Suggested adjustments
Now that I've actually... ahem... USED the aforementioned "Split According to Markers..." function, I must admit it's ALMOST perfect. A few things are missing, though: 1) In addition to saving the files using the marker names as filenames, the marker name should really, really be entered i...

Feature requests: "Persistent" metadata +++
I record an LP side, I set markers, and I copy the different segments to new documents, saving them as "## Songname.aif". Why don't I just choose "Save Selection As..."? Because I want to set the metadata. The path I'm going is like this: AIF (24/96) -> separate tracks AIF (24/96...

Ah yes...
My bad - I forgot the mixing & Tricksing...
No, you're right. The Amadeus file format is just as necessary as the Photoshop format is for picture editing.

Feature request: Save the markers in a separate file!!!
I've spent a lot of time with Steinbergs Wavelab, and they do a couple of brilliant things in that program. One of which is to store the markers in a separate file. With Amadeus Pro, each-and-every-freakin-time I make even the slightest adjustments to a marker - the actual soundfile I'm working on g...

Ah - I see!
I see - That could very well be the case. After all - when I think about it, 0.032 seconds isn't all that much of a buffer after all. 32 ms could very well be spent in harddisk operations. I get the feeling that Mac OS X has more overhead than Windows in some regards. There probably isn't a bug as s...

Should be reliable
I did the math - Even recording in the highest quality (24 bit/96 KHz) only amounts to 0,55 MBps. The harddrive of a modern day Mac can at least chew through 30-50 MBps, so that shouldn't be a bottleneck at all. Even recording 6 channel 24/192 would be no more than 3,3 MBps. A buffer of 3072 samples...

I see we're not the only ones, RSchmidt: jjoiv writes: "I have been using GarageBand for a while to record a podcast and have had no problems. Today I tried Amadeus Pro and everything seemed fine, but after about 2 minutes, the sound disintegrated and became overrun with static. It looks like I...

Buffer problems?
I'm experiencing the same thing. I record LPs in 24 bits, 96 KHz, from a M-Audio FireWire AudioPhile interface (buffer set to max - 3072 samples). I record straight to AIFF-files with Amadeus Pro. During a 20 minute LP side, there's VERY often 1-2 or more short "Brrrp"-sounds. It's clearly...
