Hi Bill, I apologize if I have misunderstood your conundrum, but it seems like you could solve the problem by using the Effects > Amplify... function to reduce the playback volume of your music track, rather than fiddling with the volume slider. It's not quite as immediate as the volume slider, but ...

Overlarge Audio Unit window

First, I'd contact the person who did the Mac programming of this plugin (see their site) and tell them to make it better . It's apparent that it's pretty useless as such. And the plugin package doesn't have an editable GUI, so there's no way for us to hack it this time... :) Yeah. Like many amateu...

Overlarge Audio Unit window

OK, I feel silly for having to ask this question, but hey. I have an Audio Unit called KTGranulator . In Amadeus Pro it opens fine, but the window containing it is so tall that it spills off the bottom of the screen even when placed at its highest possible position. Consequently, I can not access th...

Reorganizing the Audio Units menu

Thanks for the solution and the excellent instructions. It works perfectly. I have been able to reorganize all my Audio Units the way I wanted. It took a while, but it will pay off when I am in the midst of a creative workflow and no longer have to get lost looking for the effect I want. :D Tristan

Reorganizing the Audio Units menu

Hi, I have accumulated a lot of Audio Unit plug-ins. When I'm looking to use a particular one, it always takes me a while to find it in the Audio Units menu, as the menu is organized by the names of the developers and I can never remember those. I'm thinking I would like to reorganize that menu in A...

Re: Pitch Correction

I do not know of anything other than Melodyne for that sort of job. Don't forget Antares Auto-Tune... I tried the Auto-Tune 5 plug-in with Amadeus using the free 10-day trial, and I got amazing results on sax tracks and vocal tracks with a combination of Automatic Mode and Graphical Mode. It's very...

Re: Beta Bugs

Since Martin hasn't announced the news here yet, I'll trumpet it myself so this thread can have a happy ending. He has tracked down & squashed the "MP3 file opening" bug. (It had to do with the way mpg123 was compiled, linking to a library present only on systems with developer tools i...

If at all possible, I'd love to be a beta tester Stephen, The current beta version is kept at http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/AmadeusPro.zip Martin often announces updates to this version in these forum discussions. So keep your eyes peeled. If you find a bug and you're pretty sure it r...

Re: Beta Bugs

I'm finding that the beta versions are unstable as they crash whenever I import an MP3 file. I've encountered the same issue in the beta versions. Amadeus Pro 1.2.1 imports MP3s without any problems. But the 1.3 betas, when using the default behavior, fail to open any MP3s for me (even MP3s encoded...

Re: HSNameTracks hidden preference

I can confirm that Amadeus Pro 1.3 beta 6 fixes the problem whereby adding the hidden "HSNameTracks" preference could mess up the "Split According to Markers" function. However, the recent beta releases may not be entirely stable for everyone; they crash a lot on my system and Ma...

HSNameTracks hidden preference

OK, the hidden "HSNameTracks" preference should do the trick. See Section 10 (page 29) in the manual. "HSNameTracks" messes up my "Split According to Markers" operations in Amadeus Pro 1.2.1, 1.3 beta 3, and the new 1.3 beta 4. I went into Terminal and typed defaults w...

Re: Multi Track Splitting and id3 tags

Issue 1 has lost me a fair bit of time too. After splitting a file into MP3s, I generally have to use MP3 ID3X (bulk ID tag editor) to add the missing track numbers and track titles to the ID tags. To avoid having to re-sort the tracks back into the right order, I manually add the track numbers to t...

Re: Batch process query

Is there, by some miracle, a batch process that will remove the left track from every file in a folder and then make the remaining track mono? Thanks. CP In the spirit of "nothing's impossible with Amadeus," here's one possible solution, exploiting the fact that Amadeus' batch processor p...

Re: feature suggestion

Phil, By customizing the color / opacity of the elements of Amadeus' sound windows, you can easily hide the horizontal guides or make them more or less subtle. Go to Amadeus Pro > Preferences... > Colors. Under "Sound window colors," select the "Shade" element and try adjusting t...
