It worked!!!
:) Thank you, Ray! Just following the basic steps you outlined without having to go into preferences or anything complicated worked great! Totally eliminated the sound of the fan and the interview still sounds great. Means I won't have to suffer during my hour long interviews this summer! Best, David

Filter out noise from fan?
I'm using Pro 2.4.5 on an iMac running High Sierra. I had to turn on a fan due to hot weather. How can I filter out the constant background noise of the fan in my recorded podcast interview?
Thanks,
David

Deleting soft echo on one track
I'm recording two tracks on Amadeus from Skype interviews that I do and sometimes I'm hearing an echo of my voice on the other track (i.e. not the one that has my voice but the one that has my interviewee's voice). Is there some sort of tool that would require the amplitude to be above a certain lev...

Jim, Thanks for your persistence!!! I tried it again and for some reason it worked! In both cases, I selected the track with my side of the interview. The first time I had gone to the Edit menu and chosen Select All and it appeared to select just that one track. However, as soon as I chose Amplify, ...

How to amplify one track only
I have an interview with my voice on on track and my guest on the other. I am too soft and my guest has good volume. When I try to select my track only and increase the volume, Amplify automatically selects both tracks. How can I amplify only my track?

How to install Soundsoap4?
I see Soundness listed under Effects -> audio units and SoundSoap is greyed out. I have a copy of SoundSoap4 in my applications folder on my iMac. How do I get it into Amadeus?
Thanks!

making 24 bit AIIF default?
I save my podcast interviews in AIF format and then, in order to make them compatible with Garageband, I have to select 24 bit instead of the 32 bit default. Is there a way for me to make 24 bit the default?
Thanks,
David

Eliminating hum
I've been bedeviled lately by a background hum that is difficult to diagnose. I think it may be coming from the fan of my new computer. My old computer didn't have a fan so it was never an issue. I'm referring to background audio hum on my audio podcast. Is there a tool in Amadeus that would elimina...

Changing default bit-rate for AIFF
In the Settings when saving an AIFF file, the default is set to 32 but I need 24. Is there a way for me to change that default?

David

Keep playhead in window?
Is there a way to keep the playhead in the window without it scrolling away as the audio is playing during editing? I have to chase the playhead by scrubbing as I'm editing the audio because the playhead is rapidly moving off screen to the right.
Thanks,
David
