Recorded in stereo-burned in mono.

Is it possible that the burner, LG Super Multi 24X is not compatible with the iMac Mountain Lion OS, eve though the CDs are burned and then play only in Mono?

Hi, I recorded an old vinyl record in Stereo, but it burns a CD in mono. Have made sure the files are in 44.1? mh, 16 bits. Where is my problem?
