Anyone have an idea how or why a hiss would be introduced by copy and pasting from one file to another?

With my guests voice being almost too loud, is using "Amplify" at something like -80 the only way to reduce his voice?

Fix difference in volumes of speakers on podcast

i have an internet radio show and apparently the gain on my mic during an interview was lower than my guest. His voice is much louder than mine. Can I reduce his volume during the conversation without reducing mine?

definitely a slight hiss - not a click. The song sounds fine when I open and play it, but when i copy and paste into the file I'm using to assemble the show, suddenly the song has a slight hiss that wasn't there before.

Slight hiss when pasting audio from 1 file to another

I'm assembling a web based radio show interview and dropping in some songs between interview segments. But when I do, i'm getting a slight hiss sound. The hiss isn't on the original file, and I'm pasting into a WAV file...

Any thoughts on why this would happen or how I can fix?
